My dream is to be a Curator of
all the sensory pleasures of food. . . .
Food found me.
GREAT food, in all its fragrant, luscious forms. Its sensual textures informed my palette and gifted me with a passion for the chase: the undying search for the next plate of food that would blow my mind.
There are many stories to share of my adventures embedded in my heart and love affairs with food. From Guam to Japan, Spain to Brussels, Paris to Dominican Republic and many more in between. They are all the pieces to this puzzle of my food curation, curiosities, and musings in recipe formulation. The architecture, the music and the sounds down the plazas. The wind through the palm trees, the rays of the sun beating down on you as you maze through the cobblestone streets. These are real food experiences to me and what has shaped and molded me. Therefore, the formation of Gusti Gustos.
Above all, these revelations infused me with a passion to make the art of cooking about more than just the meal itself. I want each bite to transport the diner to a particular place and time. For instance, every morsel being a fusion, not just of flavors, but of sights, sounds, cultures, and experiences. I want unlikely ingredients to come together in a harmony of textures. In other words, tastes that beckon you to close your eyes and dream with me.
I invite you to come along as I experiment, dream, and share what I’ve gleaned during years of global culinary exploration. Let me share with you tips that has helped me to be leveled while being aware of life + wellness all while incorporating the joys of food. However, if you are reading this, you are as curious, as adventurous, and as open to ideas beyond your radius as I am. You are a kindred adventurer, excited to try new ideas. Let us be mindful of all lives precious experiences and adventures!
Welcome to Gusti Gustos by Latasha Marie
I am deeply in love with a man of whom I have been married to for over ten years that I share two rambunctious yet sweet human creations with.
Jazz and classical music were my first loves from elementary school. My favorite classical song is “In The Hall of The Mountain King” by Edvard Grieg (that was in the 6th grade where I would call the radio station and request it daily!). Jazz, John Coltrane Love Supreme Album and a countless list of many more…
Arts is so addicting and attracting. Whether it be fine arts, musical arts, it’s just a beautiful thing to me.
Mindfulness is a new journey and lifestyle adjustment I have been weaving into by life day by day. I can’t wait to share it all with you.
On my spare time…Who am I kidding! What is spare time!?
