This Saturday was very mysterious with a variety of rain patterns as the sun played behind the clouds. Earlier in the week a familiar soul, of whom a friendship is blossoming, invited my family to an Easter Egg Hunt. The event was held at her home and would come with great activities for the children. Our daughters are fond of each other and us adults can gab about some interesting topics. Side Note. Just recently I learned the hostess’ has a deep love of food and entertaining. So , I knew this would be a gustos encounter…of course I’m excited to taste tastes and converse amongst new faces.
Farm to TableBackyard to Table Hosting…something like The Secret Garden and instantly I was transported…
Meanwhile after arriving, the children immediately found their places and playmates. While outside, I noticed adults walking around with highball glasses with celery stalk swimming in the Red Sea. Curiosity lured me indoors to investigate. The variety of food choices met me all at once, yet took a stealthy look without being mesmerized. Let’s be honest, I am a food writer and travel for food for a reason. I am truly an adventurer. Oh, the reward is great at the end of the chase!
Moreover the joy food can bring, especially during an affair like this can be pure bliss for a foodie.
Giving an abundance of choices to try without fully indulging and feeling guilt. Leaving way for a little bit of irresponsibility of not having to fully commit. Yet the temptation is greater to not have a care at all about ‘how much’ you sample. But let’s be honest, we need a little indulgence through food sometimes. All in all, I will enjoy myself and this moment!
Marvelous Brunch Takeaways.
In short, if that is even possible at this point, I thoroughly delighted myself with tastings. That is to say it was extremely difficult not to post the bajillion photos I took. Maybe not bajillion but several that are entitled to their own food album for future admirations.
So why is it ‘Backyard to Table’? Most importantly the gracious hostess granted free reign on her backyard, the kids immediately explored. My little one runs and screams to me, “Chickens!!” The delight in the sighting of chickens in a quaint little coop highlighted his afternoon.
As I ventured on a exploration of my own, I stumbled across an area of the yard protected by a line of trees. Reminded me of The Secret Garden and instantly I was transported into feeling like a child all over again. It was invigorating yet bewildering to find nestled perfectly in an area designated for life, for harvest. The beds of nature was more than enough to feed a family of 6 to 8 persons, give or take. Instantly I connected with the love of gardening. It brings joy and a genuine gift that one can bring to the table of family and friends. It simply means you care.
Easter is a beautiful holiday, a tradition, a reason and a cause to share your home and heart with others. It brings with it the enjoyment of laughter from your friends and family. Squeals of excitement from the children enjoying their youth and freedom and timeless memories engraved in the heart. Resurrection Sunday (weekend) symbolizes peace which radiates with sunshine and rain, new beginnings and new life. What a pleasure and honor of being a guest and witnessing such in person today. I truly wish the same for you and yours.
